Mr Manyonda practices both obstetrics and gynaecology in the private and public sectors. His clinical interests and expertise in gynaecology are in the management of Recurrent Miscarriage, Menopause and Fibroid Disease. He provides a High Risk Obstetric service at St George's Hospital, looking after women with diabetes, connective tissue disorders (SLE, Rheumatoid Arthritis, etc) and pre-eclampsia. He is a great believer in the holistic approach to the practice of medicine.
Mr Manyonda's research interests reflect his clinical practice. He has on-going research programmes in recurrent miscarriage; fibroid disease - comparing uterine artery embolization to myomectomy; menopause - assessing the potential role of antioxidants in osteoporosis; pre-eclampsia - exploring predictive tests, and placentation; diabetes in pregnancy and the role of infection in miscarriage and preterm birth. He collaborates widely with researchers at St George's and other Institutes across the country. He has published extensively, and has been awarded numerous grants to purse his research.
